Helichrysum oil is extracted from the Helichrysum italicum plant that mainly
grows in European regions of France, Spain and Italy. This plant belongs to the
Asteraceae family. The oil is watery and its colour is pale yellow although the
colour may range from pale yellow to red.

Besides having a tea and honey undertone, Helichrysum Oil has a characteristic straw-like fruity aroma. Extracted by steam distillation method from dried or fresh flowering head clusters of the Helichrysum plant, this oil is also known as Everlasting Oil.

Helichrysum oil is mainly used as an ingredient in massage oils, creams and lotions. It can be used for vapor therapy or during warm baths to cure muscle aches and inflammation; problems relating to digestion and respiration and headache. It also has soothing and calming properties which help to cure depression. Athletes and bodybuilders widely use essential oils containing Helichrysum oil as it is highly effective in treating muscle inflammations due to physical activities. This oil can be used on children as it is suitable for sensitive skin.

Properties:
Helichrysum also contains di-ketones molecules (referred to as italidones). These molecules are not found in other oils.
Helichrysum oil can effectively treat bruises, burns, traumas and pain due to its regenerative properties.
