With its fresh energising aroma, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is a standout amongst the eucalypt family, with a consistently high Cineole content and for its antiseptic and antibacterial qualities.

Native to Australia, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is found in south west New South Wales and upper western Victoria, where it thrives in semi-arid conditions. It flowers usually in March to June. Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is one of the major species used for Eucalyptus Oil production.

Eucalyptus Blue Mallee has been used by Indigenous Australians for thousands of years to assist wound healing and to help treat respiratory issues.

Eucalyptus Blue Mallee oil is steam distilled from the leaves and small branches.

Eucalyptus Blue Mallee has a consistently high cineole content of between 84 and 91%. Of the Eucalypts, Blue Mallee contains one of the highest percentages of cineole

It has antibacterial, antiseptic and decongestive properties.

The essential oil is a popular decongestant remedy for upper respiratory infections and inflammatory infections, such as bronchitis. In these instances it is used as an inhalant, where it reaches the lungs and bronchioles to help soothe congestion and chest infections.

Because it is also effective as a solvent, it can be used as a spot or stain remover for carpet, clothing and linens. Blue Mallee will also remove glue from skin and surfaces and it can effectively clean stainless steel.
