Blue Tansy

Blue Tansy oil is steam distilled from the yellow flowers buds and aerial parts of the Tanacetum Annuum, a herb native to the Mediterranean. The oil has a high content of chamazulene which gives it its rich blue colour.

This oil belongs to the same family as the chamomiles and is sometimes referred to as Moroccan Blue Chamomile. Such was its popularity, it was almost harvested out of existence, but has been revived and is being grown in places such as Morocco where it is now thriving.

It is a calming oil, with antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

The presence of chamazulenee is responsible for the rich blue colour of the oil.

Also contains camphor, sabinene and α-Pinene.

It is a calming oil, with antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Common Uses

This beautiful, calming oil has a wide variety if uses, and is used in a variety of skin care products. Its calming properties make it a welcome addition to products for sensitive skin and problem skin. It is found in facial oils, cleansers, skin balms, face masks and creams.

It is also gaining popularity as an addition to shampoos and conditioners for its skin calming properties, which helps with some scalp issues such as dry and itchy scalp.

Its beautiful scent also makes it a favourite in Aromatherapy and in fragrances.
