Australian White Cypress

Callitris columellaris

A spicy, woody essential oil, it is extracted by steam distillation from the leaves or twigs. It is a known anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. The oil is a particularly excellent aromatic ingredient for masculine body care products. Australian White Cypress essential oil (wood oil), is a mild yellow honey coloured essential oil, naturally enough, it is calming and grounding. It is also good for tired joints. This oil is incredibly soothing and grounding and has significant calming and anti-anxiety properties. It can be used in skin care formulations and perfumes, where it has been uses as a fixative in perfumery.

Callitris columellaris also knows as white Cypress pine, Northern Cypress pine and Murray River pine is a species of coniferous tree in the cypress family, found across the drier interiors of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The oil has a very earthy, woody aroma and is a mild yellow honey colour and is extracted via steam distillation from the leaf or twigs.

White Cypress Oil is used in a various range of cosmetic & aromatherapy applications. It is suitable in skin care products such as soaps, creams, toners, bath products, diffusers, and massage oils. 

This essential oil can used as a base or fixative for perfumery It is a good blending oil for anchoring more elusive scents, and can be used in blends to add an "earthy" note.

It is commonly used in aromatherapy, vaporisers, bath oils and soaps, body products, a favourite in mens products, muscle rubs, cold and flu treatments amongst others.
